Gloriously Ordinary Sundays - 21st September 2025
Over the last few years, people have said to me, "Love The Five Tests, and what else? Is there like a checklist behind them?" And I've always really resisted because no, there isn't a checklist behind them. That's kind of the point. They're just five tests that anybody can use - but I get that if you're feeling a bit lacking inspiration, you might want to dig a bit deeper.
So over the next few weeks we're going to be putting together another section on the website: the stories of Gloriously Ordinary Lives. Dead simple, just places where real people are trying stuff out and it feels a bit Gloriously Ordinary. If you've got some photos, stories, video clips, or just get in touch with me and I'll do the work, that'll be really lovely.
Today I thought I'd share a story from each test that might give you a little bit of inspiration - certainly things that have made my heart sing.

PS. Did you see? The Gloriously Ordinary Sundays Podcast episode 13 is here. I I chat with Beverley Samways from Unique Connections.
I recently came across the work of Unique Connections online, when exploring how I could help and support The Girl to live a gloriously ordinary life. Beverley and I talk all about the importance and power of seeing the emotional person behind the behaviour, and how being truly present with someone can replace self-injury with connection and words.
* Trigger warning - we talk about self harm *
